Oil used was M1 HM 5w20. It was taken out of service because it was on the car for a year.

This Napa Platinum Wix XP was replaced with a Fram Tough Guard TG8316, and Castrol Edge Black 5w20.

Due to the design of this filter, some oil remained inside the filter even after cutting it open. To get it out, you have to press on the spring at the top of the filter.

Don't worry about the mangled thread end of the filter. I had a tough time getting it open and tried to peel it off, and the gasket peeled off in the process.

Agreed, Wix filters always seem to look good. I can't believe the low efficiency Wix claims for this filter though.

Yep if only it was by looks I'd have no issues with the Wix XP.

Maybe one day they will improve their posted beta ratios or improve the media.

Are you going to run the tough guard a year too?

There is no Ultra for this application. The Ultra part number would be XG8316, but such a filter does not exist.
