Eye glasses frames have one of the highest markups in retail. The manufacturing cost of acetate frames are well under $20.

Yeah aren’t they all made by Luxotica? Long ago we had vision insurance. These no name frames cost more with insurance than with cash.

Be curious to know what a sports helmet costs to mfg.

I too did not know that there was a market for glasses frames.. Hopefully they get the book thrown at them as people that dumb shouldn't be allowed in public.

If you are paying that much for frames, you don't know how to shop.

How much would you suppose ones that Bobby Flay wears cost retail (free to him / NIL)? Several multiples of that number. It’s not about lowest cost to many when it comes to dress.

At least the police there go looking for people on ankle monitors who are on the loose. I don't think they would bother in Indianapolis, where I work. Not the cops' fault. It's the prosecutors. They seem to do only the big cases that make the media.

I’m referring to your correlation between price paid and ability to shop. I don’t think there is one. Anybody can go to America’s Best or Warby Parker and get their 2 for $xx deal and refuse all options. Just as anyone can go to the mall and spend $800+. Shopping ability doesn’t come in to play in either case.

How about Patagonia and The North Face jackets? Canada Goose? Are these folks unable to shop or did they choose $1,000+ jackets? They’re everywhere not celebs. My .02

Ya they (police and courts) don't do much here either. My cousin's toddler will be 3 in January, her father has yet to pay ANY court ordered child support or do ANY of the court ordered childcare classes or anger management classes and nothing has been done to him yet

This was a wife’s friend’s niece’s situation. The friend’s daughter decided to move to Seattle and thought the deadbeat dad would oppose in court—but he didn’t (we’re in Phila). What would a deadbeat care about kids
