My oil change set up with ramps

I had used cardboard and I was especially fond of my LG OLED box that was "painted"
with the LG logo advertising.. Those are especially slippery for gliding around. I kept
extra cardboard on hand. but for me I had enough of scrounging for cardboard.
Haha yeah glossy printed packaging is the way to go!

My neighbor added a 4th level and robust end stop to my ramps yesterday.

Now 6.25” of lift.

I do use ramps, but I always use a back up. Jack or floor stands.
When I said I didn't use ramps, I was kind of mis-speaking. I don't use commercial car ramps, but I do have some nailed together wooden 2x8 ramps I made that I use to raise cars up just high enough to be able to slide an oil pan under them.

I got two sets of steel that we use, me and my mechanic here at the shop, I have a set of plastic that was given to me. These suckers are almost 100 bucks and I will not use these. I would gift them to anybody if they was close
I just don’t trust the plastic

My dad had a set of the metal ones he got from Sears and it buckled and collapsed under my grandparents' AMC Pacer.

In Australia all ramps, jacks and axle stands must comply with Australian standards. Home made vehicle supports are not permitted. Many people are injured every year by incorrect use of approved ramps, jacks and axle stands and using home made supports. What engineering qualifications do people have to make any form of vehicle support. A young person I know was killed using such supports.

My cousin's husband was crushed and died under his pickup truck. As a kid, my neighbor had his sedan fall on his leg when his firewood cribbing tipped. Getting under cars is risky business, for sure.

Broke my Rino Ramps yesterday. Drove up and went a little too far, the ramps tilted up in the back, and both cracked. My bad, but I'm still a little surprised they cracked. I don't want to spent hundreds on ramps, so thinking about getting another set of Rino's, but the truck kind this time. They are rated for quite a bit more load. Ramp angle is the same, which frankly is a little steep, but tolerable.
