Picked it up this afternoon. USA made model 96, 40 S&W. I cleaned it upon getting it home, did a light polish in the chamber, and hopefully I'll get to shoot it this weekend.

Nice! LEO trade in? In 5 years and an untold number of rounds, I’ve never had a malfunction with my Italian made 9mm 92. I put the Beretta wooden grips on mine and made it even more beautiful! Now I’m wanting a 40….. ;)

I'm not sure where it came from prior to the outdoor store I purchased it at. It was absolutely filthy, had what looked like beeswax packed into all the nooks and crannies. I gave it a good scrub down and it really slicked it up. Perhaps it was someone's truck gun? Overall it has very little finish wear and passes the function test. This will be my first experience with the .40 S&w round. It came with two 10 round magazines.

Put 140 rounds through it today. 50 were blazer 165 gr flat point, the remainder PMC 180 gr flat point. I REALLY like this pistol. Shoots accurate, the 180 gr seems to shoot a little softer.

If you can find a complete 92 slide assembly and barrel, you can have a 9mm/.40 convertible.
Got one. Can also get 11 .40 rounds in a 15 round 9 mm magazine. That being said, I can see myself not swapping slides. The .40 slide is worn to the .40 frame, the 9 is worn to the 9 frame. I have no issue using the 9 magazines I'm the .40 though.
