Just returned from its first cleaning after about 18 years of continuous use.

Thanks to an incredibly frictionless drive system it can operate eternally powered by a 1 degree tempurature change per day which nearly every room experiences. The efficiency spec is ridiculous. Something like 1 15 Watt lightbulb would power 60M of them.

Its an incredible engineering piece keeping accurate moon phase to one day every 3400 years or so.

This particular model is considered mid range getting many high end complications but not being covered in gems or highly precious metals.
These go to a million a copy for some versions. This unit is hovering somewhere in the 15-20K range these days, way up from the 7 K I paid around 04.

The wife does the mosaics...i like this one a lot. This was a very early piece.

She had a few of them commissioned and they were awesome, then she started working........
