Having your mom around a long time you really get used to them being there as an "anchor".
I Brought my mom up north from Florida so I could be near her and spend a lot of time with her on her last year.
Nursing home staff are generally good people and WAY underpaid. given the 350 a day they charge up here.
Nursing homes however are not a place you want to be.
And Hospice .... well I wont go there - lets say its "misapplied"
I wish you good support from your friends as you adjust to the changes. RIP moms and dads everywhere. Cherish the good memories and accept the bad ones as just part of life's challenges.
I'm sorry for your loss, remember the good times and not the painful times. It's always hard when they are in pain before they go. IMO, it's hard to see them go in the end but it's almost a relief they are done with the pain.
