My kitchen transformation

The cabinets were not a weekend project at all.
They took a couple weeks to complete.
I had to take all the doors, drawers, and hardware off.
Then clean everything.
Then I had to sand everything and that took forever, if it was shiny, sand it.
Clean again and tack all the dust off.
Prime everything with a coat of Sherwin Willians extreme block primer.
Two coats of Sherwin Williams pro classic paint.
I let everything dry for a week before i put it back together

yeah in another 10 years the next generation will be installing natural wood cabinets and saying painted cabinets are so "out of date"....(heard that more than a few times from the wife)

Things come and go. We've stayed with white appliances since forever. They're back in style again.

Agreed. Thank you Dan for sharing. It might give me the incentive to tackle this task.

OP/Dan,

Goo job!!!

I would like to add, make sure the place where you apply the paint is dust free/very low air movement. It makes all the differences. Also be very careful of drips. catch them while they are wet.

Source: I did my kitchen in cappucino gel stain (clean, degrease, clean, take doors an hard ware own, set shop in garage, paint stain on without wiping off, wait 2 days to dry, paint it again, wait 2 days, white poly, wait one day, mount doors and hard ware back + new handles; 1.5 very long weeks)

OP, Dan,

couple questions:
-did the new sink come with the granite install?
-did you pull the appliances out? (microwave, oven, fridge)
-what did you use for the country look by the "bar"?

Yes, the sink came with the granite and I had to do my own plumbing and faucet.
I left the microwave in and masked it off. The stove and dishwasher i slid out of the way.
The bar area where the stools are at is actually laminate flooring like pergo
