i just recieved my first uoa.here is what black stone had to say.
The only odd find for your sample was the higher than expected sodium.Valvoine uses sodium in many of their brands so thats verly likely the source of the sodium we found here.Wear metals all look good. Our universal averages show typical wear for this type of hyundai engine after about 6000 miles on the oil.you indicated you are interested in running longer oil changes, and we think that would be fine.Try5500-6000 miles for your next sample and check back. The TBNis still strong at 4.9 this looks like a really nice engine.

i will have my 2003 sonata done in the spring that has mobile 1 5/30 in it.

With low wear metals and high TBN, you should be able to extend OCI to 6-7k miles. Whatever oil and air filter you are using now are good, don't change.

Looks unremarkable - that is to say, good. Quite decent, overall.

BTW, if you would please, next time, include type of engine and oil, etc in the thread title; it helps us understand what you're running and what it's in. For example, perhaps "Hyundai V6, brand XYZ oil, X,xxx miles" or something like that.

Congrats on a good first UOA!
