I bought an 2013 Elantra GT, 4 dr hatchback, manual trans. I was looking at the Prius C, Fit, Sonata, and Yaris. I bumped into this gem at the local Hyundai dealer.

Satellite radio, heated seats, alloy wheels, black interior w/ silver highlights. Car is a metallic gray.

Drove 30 miles of 50/50 city/highway and am averaging 38.5 mpg.

Dealer matched cheapest price I could find in the midwest, and beat my bank financing by giving me 2.4% @60 months. Car had NO specials as its a brand new model. I could only find 10 or so in IL alone in manual trans. I've yet to see another on the road. I feel special for the time being........or until payments kick in HA!

I love it, the girlfriend loves it (and cannot drive stick)so I'm thrilled!

Congratulations!

Everything in this picture looks good!

Edit: teach that lovely young woman how to drive it, nothing is sexier than a gal that knows how to beat a car up!

Congrats, buying your first new car nothing beats that feeling, until you pay it off at least. Now you have to teach your GF how to drive a stick, but that is not a bad thing. Great looking car.

Factory Hyundai filters until I find out whom is making theirs currently. Since my area is considered "severe usage" I have to change oil at 3k. I'm going to stick with that to keep warranty valid, and stick with whatever oil is on sale.

Going to create a spreadsheet and follow the Hyundai manual maintenance schedule. Save receipts etc. I want no issues if I have to use that 10 year/100,000 deal....

3,750 miles is the number and they have a web site where you enter the oil change so its on "record".

Here is the link and web site.

Any 5w-20 oil (or if you'd like 5w-30 if the manual allows) plus the excellent OEM filters (which I WOULD use since they are excellent and cost is equal to other brands)) every 3,500 to 4,000 miles and Hyundai would have nothing to hang you up on IMO.

Take care, Bill

PS: Here is the info on everything that need...RY handy IMO...

Neat car. Wouldn't have financed it, but that's a discussion for another day. Sharp car. Glad you got MT!!

Nice looking ride. They've done well over the past few years with sleek body styles. My parents have a 100k mile + Prius over in Michigan and don't do a heck of alot better on mpg. Your loan rate is close to free money ... nice job shopping around.

I thought if it this way. I'm 27, minimal expenses and live comfortably. I don't trust me current car and the used car market is very inflated. I'm getting max value selling my car and using that cash as a down payment. My payment isn't a financial burden.

My girlfriend and I have a goal of saving up $25k for a home by the end of our upcoming school year. This car will be part of our family for the next 10 years. We're not going to outgrow it when we have a family etc....A reason why we skipped the Honda fit & Yaris.

I do not care for Hyundai's looks but I think this car is an exception. Neat looking car! And that's some killer MPG! What do these cars run price-wise? I am out of the loop with Hyundai anymore.

WELL under $20k OTD nicely loaded. Not leather but pretty well everything else.

Also they seem to get closer to the EPA than other models from other brands in this class.

When it comes time to replace the Corolla (it has only 250k on it) this will be on the list to check out.

Bill

These are nice cars, and with the addition of the hatchback, I'll have to consider one of these when it comes time to replace the Civic. My side of the garage can only handle so much car, so my choices are somewhat limited.
