My first ever break down!

For us, #1 is a flat tire. #2 dead battery. Twice from both dead radiator and condenser fans; once an alternator and once a blown coolant hose. Been lucky catching a number things while on the driveway though.

1965 Mustang 3-speed manual trans, output shaft broke leaving only reverse and 1st gear functional. This was in San Francisco and I lived in San Jose at the time. The transmission shop tried to blame me for "abusing" the car after their rebuild job. They towed it away, did it again for free and told me never to come back. It locked into 2nd gear a couple months later, LOL.
The 1967 Mustang had sediment in the gas tank and would regularly starve for fuel when the filter clogged. I knew I could get by for a little longer if I banged on the filter to loosen up the gunk a little. This wasn't stranded but it was the same feeling everytime the engine started bucking, hopefully not in a bad situation. This was in my early 20s and I don't do that kind of crap anymore.
