My dog has learned the Uber Eats chime on my phone = food has arrived

We learned not to say the word ā€˜walkā€™ when discussing ā€˜should we walk or is it too coldā€™ unless we were serious. He would get so disappointed if we didnā€™t go.
Now we canā€™t even spell
- w a l k - or say ā€˜strollā€™. We spell - s t r o l l - now, so far he hasnā€™t figured that out yet.

That's a cutey

My dog sleeps on the couch and sometimes late at night I go get some cheese ... She waits for the ziplock and then the saran wrap before leaving the comfortable couch. She times it perfectly. she's all curled up and I think she didn't hear or know what I'm doing this time but shows up on time and as soon as I start putting the cheese away (the second saran wrap sound), she's back on the couch and doesn't even wait for me.

My Schnauzer has learned the Uber Eats chime on my phone = food has arrived. šŸ¶ šŸŒ®šŸ”šŸ—šŸ›

I noticed this about 2 weeks ago she knows the chime and goes crazy because thereā€™s no way I canā€™t give her some food.
We have a Schnoodle = Schnauzer/Poodle - First generation, poodle legs and hair, Schnauzer back and face.
Schnauzers Incredibility intelligent and loyal dogs.

I see other comments in here likewise = My wife and I sometimes spell words to each other, for 12 years he, to this day constantly amazes us. Never loved a dog as much as this one.
People NEVER notice until we tell them, he walks us around the community, without fail he actually leads us the entire walk, he even knows where the intersections are to cross the street, he still plays ball by chasing it (has a bell inside), tug of war, walks freely around our house including up and down the 17 stairs to the second floor every day. He is completely blind at 12 years old July 2021, lost both his eyes to uncontrollable glaucoma.
Multiple doctors, animal eye specialists/ophthalmologists threw everything they could nothing worked.
... and OMG yes, every time he hears me in the kitchen he comes flying down the stairs no matter how quiet I try to be.

Say cookie or cupcake and my dog jumps up.
If he is out of sight of the kitchen and someone uses the whipped cream can he is in the kitchen in a flash.
And yeah he gets some people food, hes 13 so why not.
Yes, amazing how they pick up on words. Ours too, we always top off his dog food with people food, steak, fish, chicken, tuna and apples.
We actually buy Costco chickens and chop it up, store it in bags in the freezer until ready to use.

They recommend no people food for dogs ... but I hate to feed her the pellets so at dinner time she gets hot meal (half people food like mix of meat, rice, vegetables , etc.), plus a little water and microwave it for a minute then mix in her pellets and stir.
My wife doesn't like it when I feed her in the kitchen but I've seen her giving her stuff. Granted I do it every time I'm eating something dog friendly but she does it occasionally.

I have to disagree. "they recommend no people food for dogs" sounds like it comes from the dog food industry. But I agree 100% with what you do!
Dogs eat protein which is meat. Cheap dog food is made from corn, expensive dogs food is made from the most disgusting uneatable leftovers that cant be sold as human foods THEN ....
Dry pellets are so super heated the protein make up of the food is completely altered to an unnatural state.

Anyway I do feed a small portion of high quality food pellet food in the morning, I look at it like cereal, followed up with a glass of Lactose free skim milk. Dogs love milk!
Dinner is half can of high quality wet dog food topped with what I previously posted. Human meats that we eat and apple, string beans ect.
I even cook the dog a hamburger when we eat hamburgers. But only made from our own chop meat, onions, garlic ect is poison to a dog.

I agree that the dog food makers say no people food so they sell more pellets ...
Their cousins in the wild eat birds (phesants, etc.) I watched a coyote tracking a pheasant for a minute or so before I lost them in the brushes and the pheasant finally flushed ... My parents only fed people food to our cats and dogs and they were super healthy!

I use a plier to cut or crush chicken bones to smaller pieces for our dog just in case ... My wife worries that she may choke but my parents gave our dogs the bones all the time. I asked our vet and he said he's never seen a dog choke on chicken bones ... But I still cut them to pieces just in case. Don't want the dog to choke plus my wife would kill me :)

never tried it with dogs. I thought they may get diarrhea ... Maybe I should try a little at a time. For some reason I think our dog is not drinking enough water but I'm sure she knows what she needs. My wife thinks I don't drink enough water. I think she drinks lots of water. lol
