If it is in their names, make sure there's comp insurance on it, so you get a new one when your sister totals it.
If you love your sister and have the money, buy her a used police car to total.... I don't like her odds in a Civic.

Well, the car is under my dad's name since I was only 16 when I got the car and interest is lower when he finances it instead of me. Seccond, we have comp insurance and the plan is for her to make the payments while I'm in college and when I get out of college I will pay her back. So if anything happens to it, guess who's not getting their money back? She knows I'm anal about my car so she will do her best to take care of it. I'm actually more concerned about her washing it improperly and inducing swirl marks on the paint. Plus my dad is teaching her how to drive and he's pretty good at it. He taught me and I've been driving for a little over two years and not even a fender bender yet, knock on wood. She's a responsible person.

It's easier and cheaper to fly than it is for me to drive. I didn't mention it before but I'm heading to WI and that is over a thousand miles away. I will be atttending UW-Madison and like many large research colleges, parking is limited. Plus I get unlimited bus rides all around town when I need it.

UW Madison, Huh? My Dad, 3 uncles, and 3 cousins all have degrees from there! Hope you like to drink LOTS of beer!

asiancivicmaniac: I spent four years ('95-'99) in Madison. It's a beautiful town, nice place to live, but come winter time, baby it's cold outside, especially at a bus stop. Give me a holler through the board here if there's any (hopefully useful) information I might give you. Good luck in your studies.

sxg6, so Synpower 5w-20 has a minimum HT/HS of 2.9? I'm gonna email Valvoline and see what they say. If that's the case, Synpower 5w-20 will be finding a home in the sump of my 94 Toyota Corolla for a little trial this winter

Beer in college is the equivalent of AutoRX for engines. You use it to flush your brain after your last final. It makes room for all the new info you need to cram in next semester.
