I just finished the hiring process for a very high position where the guy in a dinner with 10 people said, "I think I committed myself too much to my career." Very successful, with 2 divorces, etc, etc.
Success is perception.

A recent multi-year study found that alot not all people were more productive with 4 10's than a 5 day week. When musk told factory employees that they needed to sleep at the Fremont factory that caused alot of attrition and negative sentiment in the work environment.

Well, apparently, that is OK for some.

Check out the article about Teslas "hard core" work regimen. Teslas Fremont factory had according to an article from The Verge and linked to Forbes three times more OSHA violations than the next 10 car factories. This doesn't sound like a good work environment. I've also read that the Fremont factory has 2-3 times more employee accidents than any other car factory in the USA.

Absolutely. Everyone has a line. I wasn’t saying I don’t either. There’s a day when the straw finally breaks the camel’s back.

I just fielded one of the dumbest calls I’ve ever heard at 1:45 this morning. I’m sure it will be one of my most trying yet. Hopefully the pay is still enough!

Most won't. There's a few crazies out there though.

There are a lot of crazies out there, I base that from being born and raised in NY. Some even say I might have a few loose screws too. Sad what you wrote above, the world has changed a lot since I was a kid, and the change was not for the better. We have someone living just around the corner from us who has two large disturbing stickers on the side windows of his SUV. Several of the neighbors have reported it and called the police about it. When they approached me about it I wished them luck with calling the police, I know better, better as in the call would go nowhere. They were told it was his right and nothing can be done, but stated they are well aware. I keep a mindful eye of people like that........

Fremont has 25K workers and is the most productive auto plant in the nation. Many worker commute in quite a distance.
Fremont one of the largest and most advanced automotive factories in the world, known for its high-tech features and efficiency.
Employee sentiment at the Tesla Fremont factory appears mixed, according to Glassdoor and Indeed. There are plusses (compensation) and negatives (work-life balance) and fear of layoffs due to cyclical business.

Tesla is aware of morale issues and is said to be concerned with it. There have also been lawsuits and alleged discrimination.
Full disclosure, Microsoft had me meet with then CIO Jay Vijayan on Operation Warp Drive, which was a home grown SAP MRP replacement. Elon hates SAP, as do I. Microsoft warned me not to take a job there, "Tesla is a sweatshop."

Looks like they've lost 3,000 employees at the Fremont plant. 2025 estimates put it at 22k employees. Still not a small amount.

Apparantly Teslas culture, pay, or other things are contributing to Tesla shedding department directors like conveniently store employees. Milan Kovac who was promoted to the head of the Optimus Robot program and who had been with Tesla since 2016 just walked. Heads of departments at a company usually don't leave unless it's really a bad place to work.

Finally got a chance to see one of these things in person this weekend. Twice, actually, while I was driving around town. The best description I have for it is hideous dumpster fire on wheels. The fact that this was ever approved for production is beyond my ability to comprehend.
