Motul: Which one should I choose.

i need advice on which oil to use for my three cars.
96 nissan pathfinder
97 dodge intrepid
97 dodge stratus
all with aprox. 125k miles.
no oil burners here. : )
all three cars call for 5w30 but i have used amsoil 0w30 and amsoil 5w30 before.
i want the best.
i change oil and filter every 4k miles.

1- 300v 0w20
2- 300v 5w30
3-8100 e-tech lite 0w30
4- specific LL-01 5w30

stay with the 5w30 300v motul..its the very best..trust me you will like these oils

I wouldn't bother with 300V in such cars. Its pure overkill! I would say stick with the 8100 in those vehicles and save your money.

Heck, with 4k intervals SuperTech synthetic will work fine in all three vehicles. Seems like overkill to use Motul in three street-driven non high-performance vehicles. My

You have a bad case of "I need exotic oil-itis"! As Andy said, those engines don't need anything special, especially with 4k mile OCIs. Even GC would be overkill, but if that makes you rest well at night, go for it (GC).

maybe i should just stick to the amsoil series 3000 HDD 5w30 i have been using for 2-3 years.

That is a super oil that should let you rest very well at night! It's better than many Motul oils too and doesn't have to be shipped across the ocean to get here either. You actually have been changing that oil at 4k mile intervals? It probably comes out of your engine in nearly as good a condition as some conventional oils are when new!

Unless you have a turbo or some other engine that generated an insane amount of heat with a small sump (ex: my 1.8T Passat) then I would also feel like Motul was overkill in a street car.

If you want to treat your baby right, GC would be the easiest if you want an "exotic" alternative.

in no way amzoil better then motul even in their reg oils...mc, if you are going for the very best then go with redline or motul....my opinion

Use motul 0w30 e-tech lite in winter...is a lite 30 weight oul and has an extremely low pour point. Use Redline 5w30 in summer due to high flash point and general robustness. Motul diesters seem better for cold weather performance and polyolesters in redline seem better suited for summer.

Personally i wouldn't waste my time messing with high performance niche oils primarily developed for bikes and high pressure turbo cars they wont protect any better in the amount of miles you use it,for 4k OCI IMHO its just a waste of money.Just use GC.

They also make a 5w-40 300v which is an alternative to the 5w30. I would be incline to stay with the Motul oils (but thats just if it were me) however maybe you could increase the OCI a bit so you don't waste your cash.
You will struggle to find a better oil.
The 300 v range for cars can be used across the board from high revving NA (0w-20) to highly turbo'ed big engined units that have fuel dilution issues (like the Lemans cars and some road going cars like M5's).

Interesting thing, I heated a portion of 300V to 265 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes and although it was letting off some gas it did not visibly suffer, unlike a similar portion of Castrol TXT which turned dark within 10 minutes. Not that this proves too much, but it just showed me that the 300V handles heat very well.
