This UOA is for a 2007 BMW M Coupe with an S54B32 naturally aspirated 3.2L six-cylinder engine running Motul 8100 Xcess 5W40. Vehicle is daily driven with a 25/75 mix of city/highway, located in the southeast (TN). Occasional blasts of spirited driving. Zero (0) oil consumption.

* The previous UOA was also using Motul 8100 Xcess 5W40 and was changed when new to the customer. The engine appeared to be in a semi-neglected state (infrequent oil changes).

Lots of fuel, regardless of what Blackstone states, look at the flashpoint, which explains the drop in viscosity. Lead appears to be trending down, be interesting to see the next report.

Nice results on the Motul 5w40

It is. For the M applications i've been switching customers over to a 5W40 instead of the 10W60. 90% of our customers with M cars never get the oil up to temperature. In nearly every case i've seen a reduction in wear metals after doing so.
