1999 VW Passat 1.8T (AEB engine code).

78K miles on the car, 3825 miles on the sample, in service 94 days. It looks like the viscosity was slipping even on this short interval (keep in mind this car is a. turbocharged and b. has a ridiculously small 3.5l/3.7q sump...).

Oil filter was a Mann (stock) filter and air filter was a fresh Bosch (stock) filter. Driving was a mix of 10-20 mile trips in 10F-30F weather and about eight 3-hour/200-mile trips averaging ~70MPH/3300rpm.

What's up with MOTULs' calcium level?
dunno.gif
It seems that it has less calcium than regular dino oils.

It's calcium and magnesium that gives you TBN retention, and a few other things that I don't understand.
