from another newbie. : what should I use in a older 1100cc
air cooled bike : 15w50 Shell motorcycle oil[ mineral ]
OR 15w50 Shell engine oil [ semi-synth. ] ?

I wouldn't use ether,(but thats me $.02)

Amsoil has a fine MC oil, it's there MCV ether 20w50 or
10w40 full syn. or M1 has a fine syn. MC oil too available at
auto zone, both oils should work fine and are not to
badly priced.

in hot running air cooled bike engins,ATV,etc. i use full
synthetics only.

If your bike has a wet clutch some car oils can be detrimental to the clutch. Because I don't know the oil products in your area of the globe I recommend motorcycle specific oil.

Use the Shell motorcycle oil...

We dont Shell brand motorcycle oil here in the USA, but it sounds like you have the option in South America.
