MotorcraftFL-910S

lots of wrong/incorrect info in the last few posts here...
the 820 IS NOT the "larger Version" of the 910... they don't even have the same threads...
the 910s basically crosses over to a Fram 3614. it's longer version is the 400s, which crosses to a fram 3600.
that parts site showing the 500s for the old escape hybrid is...correct/wrong.
it likely originally came with the 820s, and the 500s is approved for 820s applications. Same threads/gasket size, just taller instead of wider.
Purolator, and possibly some others, when condensing their product line a few years ago, replaced their 820s equiv. with their 500s equiv.

the real fun is in the 2009 MY 3.5's. early in the run, they used the Fl-400s, build dates after Jan (?), 2009 use the FL-500s.
similar sized filters, but the 400 has a 3/4-16 thread, while the 500s is 22mmx1.5mm thread.

If you've got room to run the 400s that is what I would do as the 400 has a much better particle rate than the 910

FL-400 Specifications: Micron Rating: 80%@20um FL-910S Specifcations: Micron Rating: 50%@35um
Those specs were wrong, I believe those were from Advance Auto a while back. I saw them referenced as counter argument to using the longer FL400S, because in those same specs it had the by pass specs being way different on the two filters, which they are not different. I use the 400S ( the "longer" 910S) in place of the 910S just for the extra filtration and the 400S (and 500S) seems to be the most consistent of all the Motorcraft C&P. Motorcraft actually advertises that all oil filters post Jan 2017 as being at least 95% @ 30 microns.

The efficiency between Motorcraft filters is almost certainly the same. It isn’t going to be rated at 50%@35 microns. I probably will go to the 910s on my Toyota pickup as it is only a dollar more than a supertech. The ST would be fine though. What I like is the base end bypass on both of them as the filter hangs base up.
