Is Motorcraft VC8 the right product to recharge the SCA in my Ford diesel.

No; VC-8 is for green or gold antifreeze. You have orange and need VC-12. Check your diesel supplement.
Wow, I just learned something, I did not know that there were any late model diesels using coolant needing SCA monitoring. There are Extenders used with OAT coolants but those need to be added after a long very interval, like 300k miles.
