I stopped by my local dealer today to stock motorcraft oil for my shop. I also asked for 5 qts. of 5w30 for my explorer. They boxed up a filter and 5 qts. of 5w30 motorcraft full syn. for 22.00 dollars. I asked why they gave me sny and thought i was getting the 5w30 blen at that price. The parts guy said thats the only 5w30 they get. Did motorcraft stop making the blend in 5w30 because the 5w20 I got was still a blend? I took it because you can't bet 3 dollars and some change for full syn.

Might be all they get, but not all MC makes. The Wally's around here are still sell 5w30 MC Syn Blend in qts for $2.87 every day.

The parts guy messed up.
MSRP on the Full Synthetic is $7.01 per quart.
Blend is $3.93 MSRP.
Shoot, buy all you can at that price... I would.

I get all motorcraft products at wholesale cost, so its cheaper for me to get it all at the dealer local than go to walmart.

Jimvegas, Is conocophillips still making motorcraft or someone else? I've been trying to find out but conoco says they cant say and ford tech says they dont know????

AFAIK, it's still Conoco. Our packaging doesn't say, but I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable people on here will chime in with info.

the Motorcraft oils are from Conoco, they make synthetic and blend in 5w20 and 5w30. could be they just dont stock it, Ford has no stocking requirements.

The Ford dealer down here has had the 5w20 Full Synthetic for over a year now...I use it every third or fourth time...The 5w20 Blend works really well so I use that the bulk of the time...The Ford dealer is always running specials on the 5w20 Blend...I change out every 5K miles due to heavy traffic and jungle heat the bulk of the time but if I am on a long trip would not have a issue going to 7500 miles.

BTW the Ford dealer charges 7 bucks a quart for the Full Synthetic if you want to buy it from them.

I just wish that the Motorcraft 15w40 I use in my truck was a syn blend. But after checking online the motorcraft has a lower pour point and a higher flash point than delvac.
