Motorcraft FL-910/FL-793 vs. Toyota 90915-20004

I'm planning on using an FL-910 for 10,000 miles, with M1 0W-40, in an '02 ES300. Whilst both are decent filters, I was wondering if anybody runs either Motorcraft filter in their 1MZ/3MZ-FE applications.

I've been trying to find details (beta ratio and micron rating) for both, but came out empty handed. How does the construction compare (Purolator vs. Denso)? Any input will be appreciated!

I can't deliver what you seek, Falcon. I don't have access to MC, Puro, or Denso data.

There are some oddities here you may find interesting.

Donaldson doesn't consider the FL910 and the FL793 to be the same filter. The 910 is considered a hydraulic filter. Put either into Wix (and your 90915-20004 into their engine, and you get a 51348 ..which when put into Donaldson ..brings forth a 3rd number.

FL910 MOTORCRAFT P550589 HYDRAULIC SPIN-ON
FL793 MOTORCRAFT P550335 SPIN-ON LUBE FILTER
51348 WIX P502016 LUBE SPIN-ON FULL FLOW


P550335 brings up two numbers in Purolator

L10241
L35098 this one brings up P550400 - which brings up a 51516 in wix.

P502016 brings up L10241

Most of these numbers x'ref in a Fram to PH3614 EXCEPT the FL910 with x'ref's to a PH9566 ..which gives us a 51215 in WIX ..which gives us a P552430 Donaldson.

I know that didn't help you, but I thought you might like to see the breeder reactor effect one or two part numbers can create

Amazing how many other part numbers can be produced simply by trying different cross reference catalogues!
