Well..for sure the 5W-20 is a synthetic blend. ut I thought the very latest version of the 5W-30 was also. erhaps the 5W-30 version you priced was the old GF-3?

The way I saw it go over a Wally World was that initially the 5w-20 was the only synth blend @ $1.88/quart ...now they all appear to be synth blends (at least all that I looked at) and they're all $1.44 (or was it 1.42).

You can do a search in this forum under "Motorcraft" do a title search. This a transition period with the GF-4 oils coming in. And Motorcraft's sites are out of date. They used to have a Full Synthetic, a blend, and their regular grade in the 5W-20.

The oils are probably made by "Conoco" If you get the 5W-20 GF-4, the bass is a Group III Synthetic. So go for the GF-4.

Same here, no price difference at Wally for 5W-20 or 5W-30 Motorcraft. Havoline is also the same exact price.

The local Wally World has the 5W-20 and the 5W-30 for 1.46 a quart. Cheaper than the Supertech Synth Blend! The ST is 1.78 a quart.

Each retail establishment will set prices at a level they think will maximize their profits. Obviously O'Reilly's thinks they can sell the Motorcraft 5W-20 at $1 more per quart than the Motorcraft 5W-30. Even though Wally World sells them for the same price. It's a free country and it's up to you where you want to shop and how much you want to pay
