Motorcraft 0w-30?

Does anyone know anything about this oil? It's not on Motorcraft's site, and the bottle is unfamiliar. motorcraft 0w-30 mr

I've not seen that anywhere. Perhaps a call to your local Ford dealer parts department could shed some light?

I know that motorcraft has a synthetic oil but it is very expensive, much more than any synthetic you can get over the counter.

This might be some old stock. It doesn't tell you what the service classification is. All the motorcraft oils I have seen in the past 2 years have been in red bottles.

Looks like older stock. A google search brings up repeated references to the Ford Powerstroke 7.3 diesel engine, so this maybe a specialty oil developed for the powerstroke engines.

Yes indeed, it is old stock as I was one of the winners in that eBay auction. The oil is packaged in the black bottle and is Motorcraft 0W-30 Semi-Synthetic SJ rated. I don't need the SL rating as I have an older vehicle.
