We had the rare privilege of having a Mohave Green rattlesnake in our back yard a year ago last July. Of course, it died. A shovel just below the head will do that. I sent a picture to the wildlife office and they confirmed it was a Mohave Green. It was not scary, except I was worried about the dog getting too close and getting bit.
Mohave because that is how we spell on this side of the river. In Arizona it is illegal to kill a rattlesnake, with exceptions. I leave rattlesnakes alone when I encounter them in the wild.
