Ha! Now I can return a tasty taunt to BlueOvalFitter and his crayfish teaser. Filled a bread bag of tasty morels yesterday. Plenty of spring rain here, we just need a day or two of sunny warmth to bring them on strong.

Gourmet free range mushrooms. There are wild mushroom hunters who supply them to fancy shmancy restaurants . My little sister is a beginner. Never ate any myself

I saw one once in the wild, between the main gate and the office on one of the power stations.

If only I'd known then what I know now.

I buy the dry ones when I can find them, but due to price and volume have to mix them with regular mushrooms.

Congratz.

These threads about seasonal delights has reawakened my appreciation for the small things we should be grateful for. I miss the late hours spring smelt dipping and brook trout fishing of years past.

This spring I am grateful for the homemade maple syrup, hens laying eggs again, and our annual 1/4 beef purchase from farmer Kevin.....unfair x 3!!!! LOL:
