Montgomery Ward oil find at the recycling center

Dropping off used PCMO today I found 4 gallon containers of Ward's Riverside heavy duty motor oil. SAE30 is embossed in the top lid. Since it was about 4F when I dropped oil off the oil inside was so thick it would hardly move. Yup, they're full and I grabbed two. Fun reading on the back where the API recommends "change oil at least every 60 days!

edit...considering what people are asking for old containers on eBay, maybe I should grab the other two?!

Sounds like 1967-1970 was when MIL-L-2104B was produced, so that’s some pretty old HDEO there!

The Montgomery Ward address at the bottom of the can has a zip code, so they're later than 1963.

Love these finds.
Grab all 4 and do the ebay thing.
If they don't move by Spring do one for Mother (Earth) and recycle the oil.
They'll be easier to pour then.

Don't keep 'em around as sooner or later one will get punctured or rust through and you'll have a mess.
