For many vehicles, Summit sells a pulley on bearings for changing the belt configuration to eliminate the AC compressor. In general this is meant to be used by people who want to turn the vehicle into a race car and do not want the weight and the engine loading of turning a compressor.
To the OP, you list your location as United States, but do not specify what state, so I have no way of knowing how far north or south you live. But even in Chicago you do not want to be stuck in traffic on a hot summer day without AC. So unless you have other vehicle(s) to use on hot days, you might be better off not eliminating the AC.
