Do not listen to that article. I have seen it picked apart numerous times by people far brighter and way more educated than myself. The guy is an engine builder, not a mechanical engineer. Having built 300 engines isn't crap. He probably got a little to baked in highschool and was forced to go into some flunkie tech school in order to survive. This article he has written is probably so way of justifying his own exhistance. While there is some valid statements, there is a lot of crap to sift through. The article is controversial because it's bullsh!t.
 
The flooring of the accelerator pedal is not
what breaks them in. It is when you let off the
gas and the piston rings are sucked against
the cylinder walls. That is why they say to very
the RPM When breaking in a motor.
 
Bring it to Colorado's high country - it'll get broken in real quick!
