Mobil1 oil filters

I have a 2006 impala SS 5.3 and it says to use M1-107A oil filter. I also have a 2008 impala SS 5.3 that says use M1-113A oil filter. What’s the difference and why different?

Only Mobil is going to know all the technical specs they really don't publish any real specs. Try calling their customer service phone number to see if they can tell you any differences. Bottom line is they've speced those filters for a reason nobody will ever find out why.

The 107A has imperial threads and the 113A has metric threads.

They seem near identical otherwise but are obviously not interchangeable.

The trucks of that time did the same thing. Went from a PF46 to a PF48 in Delco numbering. Like Bottom Feeder said, threads changed.
