Well, I'm not going to pour 5W-20 in; I end up getting lifter noise during warmup with my hemi, and 10w30 RP made it go away. I personally think 5W-20 for a high-output V8 is just too thin. I'm still curious, though, about the Mobil 1 Truck and SUV. If the stories I'm hearing about the hemi are true (that the hemi "tick" is from clearances being too tight, instead of too loose), then 5W-40 might be a bad idea.
I tried GC, but my lifter noise during warmup was too much to bear. I mean, you could hear them clicking away. Amsoil was the same thing. RP finally took it away.
I'm not really sure what to think. Maybe I should just abandon the whole idea and try the new Pennzoil platinum next time!
