Mobil Special now a Synthetic Blend as well...

It seems as though the industry is going towards synthetic oil. If I recall, Chevron did the same.

I've never seen it at Walmart but BJs hasn't changed their price:

 
I think all oils are synthetic blends, some just don't specify it. Hard to meet today's stringent standards any other way.

Apparently for the 40 and 50 weight, they aren't as strict.
 
I read somewhere recently that if it's 15% or +15 synthetic in that conventional bottle, it's optional to use syn-blend on the label.
It could be a colluded handshake agreement with motor oil producers, Or it may say such in their reg bylaws..... not sure!
