Have you guys seen a press release or heard anything on this oil ?

I heard through the grapevine it will be marketed to replace the Drive Clean Blend . I'll call the Kings of the OTC synthetics after a while and and see what I can find out .

Keep us posted. I like DCB, so it will be interesting to see what this new oil looks like.

I spoke with a fellow that told me he did not know about any new oil at this time .

He did say that the Drive Clean Plus was still SL GF-3 and it will stay that way until time for GF-4 come spring .

So is this oil going to be marketed as an oil that is 'suitable for drains longer than 3000 miles'? Sounds like an interesting strategy, although XOM probably doesn't want to undercut the reputation/efficacy of its cash-cow brand, Mobil1.

I'll add a bit of fuel to this fire....

A friend of mine works for a Mobil oils wholesaler, and told me yesterday he's going to get me a case of a "new sample" of Mobil1 that's supposedly good for 15k mile oil changes (according to Mobil that is). I guess this new formulation goes by the name "Mobil1 Ultra", or something similar.

Anyone know more about this?

If not, then I guess you heard it here first

LOL, better lock it up in your garage, Al, because Buster will be salivating all over himself to get his hands on the lastest & greatest from M1.

What if "extended mileage" really refers to there being a LOT OF MILES ON THE CAR vs. EXTENDED DRAIN INTERVALS??????????

Wow-Lebanon is a long way to go to work-fortunately we are having a mild winter.

I can think of some winters here where that trip would not have been doable.

Visions of Rt.322 drifted shut along all that pristine farm land owned by the Hershey School....I knew it well.

Oh ..and while truav8r is at it he can drop off an extra case at Al's place.

Have vehicle, will travel. (Paladin theme song playing in background)

:off topic:

Fortunately, she has a 2002 Corolla company car. When we moved here from Pittsburgh in late 2003, she took a job on the east shore of harrisburg. Last September, she got a promotion that (unfortunately) moved her to Lebanon. The company car was part of the package, since her commute increased considerably. Mine is not much better... 44 miles up and down I-81 everyday.
