I use Maxlife ATF in all my toyota automatics. Most notable, relative to your question, is the fact that I use it in my sisters 1997 4Runner with 253k miles. Shifts perfectly.
I've had nothing but good experience with it in general. It's readily available at Walmart, and it doesn't break the bank. Winner in my book!
