Mobil 1 truck and SUV on clearance in advance auto parts

A tip of the BITOG hat to you @DFWoilguy, however my experience with AAP "deals" and the machinations required to eke out the savings is many times not worth the effort. Specifically for me the last time with the Castrol rebates/AAP gift card fiasco and the time spent running down the credit issued for the gift cards. Maybe I'm getting old and losing the thrill of the hunt, but I am delighted with my recent Kirkland oil purchases of $15/Jug w/o the attitude, incompetence or wondering if they'll have my grade in stock. YMMV.

I feel ya brother. Sometimes it's like "Pulling teeth" trying to get what's advertise or dealing with lazy incompetent employee's who lie about stock or dealing with rebates/promotions

But I LOVEEEEEEEEE the thrill of the hunt and love to give away some of my "treasures" when I make a deal with someone and they show "respect" to me on the final price. Sometimes the TRUE reward is the smile on a persons face ;)

It is definitely annoying. Sometimes not even worth it for resellers like me and Dave. I have definitely soured on rebates some. There have been times where I just don't want to be bothered based on past annoyances, and by the time I eventually try to submit, it'd be past the deadline. That's extra annoying because I made the time to look into it, just too late, and I kick myself for not only trying, but trying too late. So I wasted time anyway

Oh for sure, but if your motivation was to kidnap BITOGERs, that's what would lure us in lol.

You can't give away your moneymaker though. Free candy it is!

Ya from "past experiences", BITOGERS are the last people I want in my oil van lol ;) 🤪 🥴

Honestly I love having these big HD vans in my fleet where my 1500 Suburban falls short and cruising around DFW picking up closeout deals at my local oil vendor or retail locations cranking up some 80's rock (RATT, Van Halen) and eating different country/Mexican foods

good times down here in DFW metro VS a state just north of here with nothing but drama and clowns:sneaky::LOL:🤪

for giggles and 'cuz I was out that way...checked again and the price has not changed still...thought it was longer ago but I see just a month...no changes

Bill

From my experiences in Dallas. I would check around cause clearance pricing isn't all the same with those clowns @ AAP

For example the AAP in Des Plaines might be $15.55.XX per 5W-20 jug vs in Melrose Park $27.XX for the same one

you are correct but the other stores I checked were even higher so I focused in on this one store...I don't need oil currently but only would take advantage if the price were right and I prefer Mobil 1 oils...Mobil hasn't run any rebates this year (2024) so I have been looking at alternatives but...there it is

Feb/March, Valvoline Advanced was $15 a jug and $12.50 if you bought ten in some of the lighter grades at Fisher/Federated. Sales like that plus walmart spring clearances set my threshold prices for stockpiling. I'm sure sale season will come around again. I just stockpiled on the Delo 400 deal so it isn't like we're in the deal desert.

Are they that nice in H-Town?? The AAP's in OKC and DFW are full of d-bags!!!
i spend probably 2k/week in one store at mostly retail prices. the manager in there also brings his cars by when he has a concern/needs his oil changed. the other 2 local stores to me may as well not exist. i treat them like an autozone and avoid like the plague.

Ahhhhhhh that makes more sense!!! From my travels and personal experiences AAP has the WORST customer service and there stock shares show it!! Pep Boy's 2.0 coming soon  🤪 😎

Am i missing something?
Is this a really good deal? At $15.xx
Is M1 truck/SuV better than M1 EP?
Yes it is a good deal at $15 and change.

It's not better than m1 EP but it is a very good oil and good for up to 10k mile intervals I believe, which is very likely a lot longer than any of us would go.

Ummmm SIR!!! $15.55 + Shell Fuel rewards+ speed perks :sneaky: :p

YES!!! I'm getting a NICE fuel discount the more oil I purchase few weeks ago I waited and hit the $1.00 of per gallon @ one shell/7-11 near ft worth was $2.44 a gallon so only paid $28.80 for 20 gallons of TOP TIER fuel (y) :sneaky::cool:
