I've always been using Castrol 4T, Yamaha lube 4T, Havoline 4T and other convention motorcycle oil. Since the price of the M 1 15w50 $2 a qts at AZ, I may try. Before doing so, I want to see if others have used this oil on an air cool cruiser and works ok.......I know it does not have JASO certification. No air cooled cruiser but I use it in my air cooled KZ 1000 and it works good. I also use it in my Concours 14 which is known hard on oil and no problems, clutches work well in both bikes and inside the motors are super clean. Disclaimer- In both bikes I mix in 1 quart of Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50 with the 15w-50, hoping that will help with the 15w-50 shear. Will know shortly because I'll send for 5,000 mile oil test from the C14.

I've used it quite a bit in my Harleys. Even in the primary it worked fine. Even did an analysis which came back fine.

Ive used in my zx900r ninja the M1 15w50 car oil, the best oil that went in that bike. Id like to get a UOA to see if it shear visc or not in 6k miles I ran it. Didnt got oil analises, unfortunately. Also ran the 10w60 SF racing version in a Honda XLX 350 for 3 years and 13k miles and sold it with that oil in the sump bike running fine with less consumption than my friends. Didnt got gummed with sludge up, also.

I have a friend with Harleys and that's all he's used for many years. He only changes the oil every 2-4 years.

Great oil for Motorcycle applications even though it's not rated for MC use. I use it in an air-cooled '57 Shovel-Panhead Harley. Very good oil, no analysis but the motor looks great when on the bench for inspection (every winter) and runs excellent. The multigrade makes starting easier on cool ride-able mornings (kickstart only). Cold it's 3 kicks (two without spark, then fire it up) and warm it's a true 1-kick bike. If it works there, it works everywhere (HD Spec is straight 50 weight in that application).

M1, 15W-50 is one of the finest oils mankind has ever produced. Period. For high heat, high stress applications, it simply works. It does shear a bit in motorcycle transmissions after substantial miles. You should never leave oil in that long anyway.

Got back to AZ a little late but was able to snatch the last 8 qts of M1 15w-50, still at $2 per qts. I'll mix some Castrol 20w-50 motorcycle oil to get me 3 yrs of oil changes. Thanks for all the input.

This is what I use in the ducati, I would use it in the triumph but I change the oil every thousand miles so I go conventional. Great oil and holds up well with good shift feel.
