Mobil 1 or Delvac 1?

While both Mobil 1 and Mobil's Delvac 1 are highly regarded oils, it seems Delvac 1 has a slight edge in the opinion polls.

Given the similarity in the additive package (especially when compared to M1 15w-50) and the fact that it is moly-less (seemingly a valuable additive) why is Delvac 1 thought of as superior, even if only slightly? Is it perhaps the viscosity range, or is there more to the story?

Thanks! Now, I have renewed respect for
Mobil 1 15W-50. It's a viscosity which gets
short shrift because of the high high-number of
50.

If you compare Delvac 1 to 0W-40, Delvac 1
has a more potent additive package and a higher
HT/HS viscosity.

But, 0W-40, 15W-50 and Delvac 1 are _all_
excellent oils. You can't go wrong with any
one of them.

Does anyone here run M1 15W-50 in modern Ford and Chevy engines such as the 4.6 SOHC, LT1 and LS style engines?? Is this adviseable at least for the summer months?? Do you see any problems with the significant higher viscosity of the 15-50 vs. the 10-30?
 
You can definitely run this in those engines, especially going by what they run in New Zealand and Australia, but you will lose out big time with gas mileage and HP. In fact, it might be just to thick to the point that the engine/oil will be more hot defeating the benefits of it protecting well.
