I just changed my oil on my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country, V6, 3.8. The car is brand new, with miles of 875. It had Chrysler's Mopar filter in it.

I put in M1, 5w30 with the M1 filter. I noticed that the M1 filter has 5 holes as opposed to 8 holes on the Mopar.

I am a novice on this, and not certain why the difference in the quanity of holes, and does it make a difference?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Are the holes on the Mopar filter smaller?Really do a search on this topic...it makes no difference...the engineers did their homework on the flow thru the filters so you can use the Mobil 1 filter with complete confidence..kinda pricey, but a great filter.

I have a 1998 T&C with the same engine. Just turned 175,000 miles on Mobil 1 5w30 and either Purolator Pure One or Mobil 1 filters. Oil consumpton is 1/2 quart in 5,000 miles, been that way since new. Spent -0- on non lubrication and brake maintenance for the first 150,000 miles.

Enjoy your new ride.
