It's amazing the technology available today. A guy around the corner from me has a 2000 ish Firebird that can run consistent 8's-9's (maybe lower?) at the track but he can also drive it to the track if he wishes and get decent gas mileage while doing so.
Everything is computer controlled so he can set fuel curves, and a host of other things for the street or strip all through a laptop.
