Hey all.

I’ve been running Mobil 1 0w20 EP in my wife’s 17 Civic Hatch 1.5T 6 speed.

I change it at 5000mi and it’s been running good. However I work for a Honda dealer in canada and we have this new Gf6 rated bottled oil. Anyone have any more information on this stuff?

The bottle kinda looks like a Petro Canada one. I know a while back they used them in Canada as their supplier.

That’s who supplies our bulk oil - it appears to be Gf5 rated petro supreme synthetic

This was a new bottle that was “ultra 0w20” then changed its name to just 0w20

I see what you mean about bottle tho…

sorry maybe your right it’s the Gf6 formula.

Any opinions on this oil vs Mobil EP 0w20 for a 5000mi change on a 1.5T 6 speed highway driven Honda Civic?

Both great oils. For a 5000 mi change the pc synthetic w20 will work well. Basically take your pick. It's mostly group lll "severe hydrocracked" but will work very well for you. Honda Canada apparently thinks so too.

Sometimes if you go to a pc bulk supplier you can get good prices for a case of 12. I know this because there is one where I live.

Appreciate it man - considering I work there it’ll work out 4L and a Honda filter = same as just the M1 on sale
