BRIAN: A little time has passed since we last saw a sample from your Cougar and judging by these
results, the years (and your careful operation) appear to have been good to it. All wear is now reading well below average for this type of engine and nothing showed up that would indicate a problem developing. We were finding a little fuel previously, though that disappeared. The viscosity was normal for a 5W/30 and the TBN was strong at 5.0, showing lots of active additive left. It was 2.2 last time and 1.0 is considered low. Try 6,500-7,000 miles on the next oil.
