Has anyone done a VOA of Mobil 1 15w-50?

I'd like to know what's in this stuff and how it differs from the regular M1. Thanks

Mobil 1 15w-50 is a VERY good oil. It does have more ZDP and is suposed to be heavily friction modified. There could be other things in the base oil that won't show in a VOA. That is with many oils.

Yup. But if you install Castrol 5w-50, you can over rev your engine to any rpm, and it will take it like it was made to do it. Just downshift right into 1st gear coming off the highway and take advantage of 20,000 rpms of compression deceleration power.

I'm gonna try it in my Z after the ARX rinse. I'm still in the cleaning phase and I can't wait to be over. I'm tempted to skipping the rinse with dino and just going straight to 15W-50

I know that you hate to put dino in your car. I am currently doing the rx rinse with dino. Unfoutunately it is necessary. "I feel your pain."

Please do a UOA after you change the 15w-50.

Can someone clarify why M-1 15-50 would need more ZDDP over their 30 weights?

What's with the dino rinse and seals will love you forever if you don't???? I didn't think that mattered from all the discussions on Auto RX from the past.

I think 15W-50 has more ZDDP not because it needs it, but rather because it's permitted; the other viscosities are restricted to lower levels based on ILSAC GF-3 (or is it API SL?) spec.
