These are from a year or so ago. The discontinued Red Cap is supposed to be the same as Silver Cap.

Red Cap also was a grp iv/v they say.

I for one wish they would have left red cap alone.

Red Cap was Classic Coke

My dirtbike and ATV's will shift like [censored] on worn oil. We all know that motocross bike will destroy even the best oil in a hand full of hours.

My UOA's showed that the oils sheared out of grade substantially. Regardless of they type brand or price of the oil.

This is why I use inexpensive HDEO oil, because of shearing I have to change the oil every 10-12 hours.

I can feel the difference in my clutch with fresh oil and with used sheared down oil.

Amen... my toe can tell when it is time for an oil change in my high performance apps.

I think it is because of shearing too... and there is a remarkable difference. Then it's back to perfect after an oil change.

I have both the Rotella 15w40 here to try and the 15w50 Mobil 1 to try... to compare to the Rotella 5w40.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a more robust base with less VI improvers... and/or why waste my money on synthetic if I have to drain it every ride or two?

If the 15w50 Mobil 1 will hold up longer, I don't mind $22 for 5 quarts. But if it doesn't, Rotella 15w40 for $11 a gallon makes a little more sense.
