Thinking about switching to Mobil 1 10w30 HM in my 96 Mark VIII which has just over 100,000 miles. Reason why is it's really cheap at Wal Mart compared to me ordering Amsoil ASM 0w-20. What do you guys think?

I read the specs on that oil and they are impressive and the 10w40 even more so. (If your engine and conditions can accept that weight.)

Why don't you just get M1 @ $ 21 for a 5 quart jug at walmart and call it good?

I ran regular Mobil 1 10w30 in my 94 Mark VIII until 160,000 miles. Until I sold the car. No wear aver shown in any of the used oil analysis and a 8000 mile OCI. Regular M1 is fine. HM won't hurt. I would not weat it.
