I haven't been here in a few years and I have a question. I know i'm lazy and haven't used the search funtion, but what do you guys think of M1 0W30 synthetic? 5W30 was out of stock, so I went with the 0W30 instead. Seems like a smart move for the winter.

Well, I'm back down in Boulder at 5200 ft. But, it still gets below zero quite a few times a year. I want to go 8K+ oci with an Amsoil filter. My current oci is 7K with M1 5W30. I'm not into analysis, so it's just a guess which has been fine for 90K miles!

Yes, many filters can go that far. When I had my '05 Accord, honda suggested a filter every 20K when used in non-severe service. Went 10K a time or two(2 5K OCI's). IMO really good filters can be had for $6 or less, so why risk a engine worth thousands over a filter.

Yes.

That is why Mobil has to remind everyone that it is a replacement for 10w30 and 5w30.

Before M1 green cap, many people were afraid of using 0w30. Mobil couldn't convince people to buy it.

Maybe things will change in the future.

Your right,I remember seeing that re: replacing 5&10W-30 weight oil`s. This is the advanced fuel economy oil I`m talking about.
