Very nice, thanks for the update!

Weighs in at 9.0 cSt. This is tough to beat. You can buy it anywhere and it's specs are as good as any other. It's also a group IV right? Amsoil's is a group III.

about the same specs for viscosity as the amsoil 5w20, but at a much cheaper price and the fact that is a real synthetic makes it more appealing. This definitely is going in my honda next.

Exactly. There is ZERO reason why anyone would buy the Amsoil 7500 line IMO. I can't see it. There are advantages of being a big company sometimes. I'm sure Amsoil will have some great bar graph showing how inferior it is...not. hehehe. Just joking fellas. I'm not trying to start a war.

only the stupid and foolish would buy the amsoil. Now, ill get amsoil 10w40 for my jetski bc its a true synthetic and its not 8 bucks a quart like mobil 10w40 motorcycle oil is, but when they try pulling stuff out of their a$$ saying group 3s are synthetics when they were totally against it, thats when i choose mobil 1.

good point buster, i love how they show mobil 1 trisynthetic 10w30 as causing more wear than castrol gtx 10w30. I wish they would actually market their oil better than by doing stupid 4 ball wear tests that don't mean anything.

Well I'm not Anti-Amsoil but you have to remember that if you are running Amsoil Corp., you have to make some bold marketing moves to distinguish yourself from the pack. They do this by there long drain capabilities. I'll give Amsoil credit that there oil might hold up better in the long run, but thats what they formulate it for. I don't like how they pick and choose what graphs and other meaningless numbers to throw at you, but thats business. Good old American competition. Amsoil does acknowledge that Mobil 1 is great oil. How can they not, it's uses the same PAO. So, don't let it get to you, just ignore the hype. It's very good oil but they just can't compete in the OTC retail market. And what Mobil gives you in this market is tought to beat. I was talking with Redline the other day and they agree that Amsoil's graphs and number comparison's are rather funny sometimes. He said it, not me.... Just when I thought I'd never compare the two again in a forum, it happens. As long as there are competing brands, bring them on!!
BTW, Mobil makes a 10W-40?

Thanks for the news. One interesting thing about the new oil is that the cold cranking spec is poorer than M1 0w-30, yet the cold pumping spec is better.

Just a mild opinion here. When you resort to this type of verbage you tend to alienate some folks. One of the nice things about this board has been the total absense of this. Just check out the Edmunds board, if you have any doubts. Again-just MHO.

Just think if we lived in one of these socialist countries (France/Sweden). More regulation, more taxes, less competition therefore less to chose from. If this site were based in China we would be talking about Brand A made by the government and you'd be stuck with it. That is why communism sucks.

Exactly! Amsoil's business practices might bother some people, but the oil is top notch stuff and I wouldn't exactly call someone a fool who uses it.

u misunderstood what i said about amsoil. Im not talking about their true synthetics, i was talking about their group 3 crap oils. They charge over 5 bucks for a group 3 oil, thats more than supersyn and its not even a real synthetic. I like amsoil, but i wish they would have kept their xl7500 line pao and not group 3.

Which Honda vehicle/engine do you have and what is the climate?

Could somebody please copy and paste the specs. I know this sounds crazy but everytime I try to go to Mobil 1's website my browser automatically closes. Thanks,

Kevin

i have a 2002 honda civic ex 5 speed coupe that calls for 5w20 and i live in michigan. basically, i can use this 0w20 mobil 1 all year round since it never gets that hot up here in michigan.

Yeah I guess with this engine you can get away with that grade. I could never use 5w20 in my car.. It would chew it up at 7.5K rpm into a 10 weight.
