Is there much of a difference between MMO and 2-cycle oil? They are both added to fuel and meant to be combusted/consumed. What is the difference in final concentrations when these are added to fuel. Say 40:1 for 2-cycle oil, and 48:1 for MMO (my car has a 12 gal tank, and I believe that Marvel says to use 1 qt to tank - I may be mistaken).

Curious as to your thoughts.

I'm a fan of this stuff, but I'm pretty sure 1qt to a tank would foul your plugs in no time. I think the measurement is more along the lines of 4oz per 10 gallons. I wouldn't use anymore than 4-5oz in your tank. Otherwise, we'll see you back here posting about how MMO fouled your plugs.

If my math serves me correctly, 4oz to 10 gallons would be 320:1

I've been using MMO for 40 years and never had trouble with it fouling plugs. When pulling a trailer or heavy driving over mountains I often put a half quart or more in the gas with no blue smoke.....

Dave I am lost, I thought that the GTA Fuel Enhancer that you use is the answer. Are you saying that you need both the MM and the Fuel Enhancer. Set me straight.

For any oily additive that is mixed with fuel in 4-strokes, the recommended ratio is generally 600:1 to 640:1, or 5 gallons fuel /1 oz. additive, or 10 gallons of fuel/2 oz. additive.

To determine dosages, recall that there are 4 - 32 oz. quarts/gallon, so 5 gallons = 20 quarts = 20 x 32 = 640 oz, etc.

Ok, I may have been off a bit on the dosage of the MMO. I'm just wondering if there is really a difference between the two of em besides the color.

I once tested MMO to see if I could foul plugs with it. I started running 1 quart per 16 gallon full tank each fill up for a couple of weeks. THen I went to 2 quarts per tank full for two tanks of gas. I could not get my plugs to foul and I never once had any smokeing!!!! THe engine ran just fine! I had a big boost in performance with 1 quart per tankfull in the summer. I did not see any increase buy doubleing the dosage. I am not recomendeding this treatment rate just saying that I could not get my 22RE I4 4Cylinder to complain.

The valve train and injector's were much quiter with with MMO added to the fuel.
