Mixing TPT LL17Fe+ with Edge 0W-20 Euro LL17Fe+ (B48)

I recently switched from TPT to Castrol Edge 0W-20 Euro which has the same certification (LL17Fe+). But now I'm due for another change and the Castrol is getting to be hard to find. I have an extra liter of TPT LL17Fe+ the I was keeping as a spare when the car was under warranty, and about 5qts of Castrol left over from the last change when I switched. If I mix them it's just enough oil for the job.

I don't expect there would be any issues mixing these oils since they both meet the same spec, but I wanted to see if anyone here agreed or disagreed. I've looked around for older threads addressing this, but there is usually a lack of consensus on mixing across brands.

The application is a 2016 X1, 80,000 Miles, no mods, in a hot climate (Houston TX). I know based on older threads that other oils are recommended for the B48, but I have the oil so I figured I should use it if doing so is safe.

Makes sense, I now realize that it's pretty much identical to what I did on my last change when I added the Castrol to a sump of TPT.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the logic in your answer.

Just curious....what is TPT? Also, I agree with Bailes1992 about having to add a quart of different brand oil while traveling....no problem.

PS: I also like Bailes1992's Dacia Duster....I wish we could buy them here.
