Mixing AMSOIL ASL 5W-30 (PAO/ESTERS) and Motul 5W-30 300V (DOUBLE ESTER) harm your motor?
Need the experts.

Thanks.

I would safely say that oil mix is better than each product on their own, given that you're mixing three very high quality base fluids. I would think the benefit of molecular diversity comes from the at least 3 different types of high-performance base oil molecules. The additive packs, like most other motor oils, should be compatible.

Amsoil states that you can safely mix their oil with any other oil but you may not recognize the benefits if you do. The fear of mixing oils is really in the past.

I think most engine oils are formulated with the best percent of the individual ingredients in the add pack. To mix oil will reduce the percentage of each additive in the pack. I see no benefit and probably a reduction in protection from mixing oil. I think that the only benefit may be to address a viscosity issue. Just my thoughts. Ed

The answer is you won't do any harm but it's contradicting because mfrs state it's ok to top up with another oil, but members will say home brew is not as good as it's individual components.

It all depends on the brands used. Some make it better - some don't. Only way to tell is by UOA - or self-satisfaction in relation to things like engine sound, cleanliness and consumption rates.
