Mixing Delo 15-40 to get 20-40?

My Harley calls for 4qts of 20-40. I live on the Texas coast and usually ride my bike for 50 miles at a time: half high speed/half heavy traffic.

I get Delo 15-40 for free.

What’s the easiest way to turn a gallon of 15-40 into 20 weight?

the 15w or 20w is just a winter rating. Put the Delo 15w40 in and don't worry about it. Once up to temperature the oil will be in the same 'grade' anyway.

What would the 20 do that the 15 wouldn't? Is the recommended oil a 20W-40?

So… HD manuals call for HD 20-40, but say in a pinch use diesel oil, then replace with HD brand stuff… meaning whoever got the bid to package their oil as HD oil that year.

I run rotella in everything I own, but my new employer- uh, SUPPLIER- runs Delo 15-40.

I’m not a oil guru, just pragmatic… so I didn’t know if or what to mix to achieve my desired results: free oil changes

Easiest way is pour the 15w40 Delo in and forget about it till the next required change.
