3,000 mile oci on a 112,000 mile 2008 Subaru Forester 2.5 non turbo.

Out/off Mighty T4612 and 3.0 quarts unknown 5w30

In/on Fram endurance fe7317 and 5 quarts valvoline restore and protect 5w30

Funny thing I could easily smell the valvoline out the tailpipe exhaust while idling after the oil change.

"Mighty Auto Parts TecSelect"....a new one on me!
Metal ends...a bypass valve built into that 'high hat'...and a nagging question...Holes or louvers?
Thanks for the C&P.

Though didn't see mentioned, looks like a tear on the pleat next to wide pleat area. Not surprising considering pleat spacing there. Jobber tier filter, likely installed at a quick lube or indy shop. The FE will be a big step up.

Thanks for c&p.

oh my...
Any picture of the base plate? We could get a better idea if this one is made by Purolator or not.

At least 3 tears. This car was elderly and slowly driven too I dont think cold oil high rpm higher dp was a factor at all for the tearing.

Bypass valve in the dome end (shown in photo down the center tube), not in the "high hat".

It would be great to figure out who makes it. Base plate you posted is seen before. I want to say Baldwin maybe but that would just be a wild guess. Wonder if Mighty would talk...(say who makes them)
